Experience an exciting pre-FTF continuing education event for ministers and candidates!
Whether you are attending Face-to-Face or simply looking to explore leadership issues,
plan on attending:
NEW VISIONS
FOR PASTORAL LEADERSHIP
Thursday, May 30, 2002, from 1:30-5:00 p.m.
Friday, May 31, 2002, from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Cost: $75.00
How do we understand "the crisis of leadership" in the life of the church, and its implications for church leaders? What do congregations need and expect from pastors, and to what degree are such needs and expectations appropriate and realistic? How can pastors assess the conscious and unconscious dynamics of congregational life and respond in an appropriate manner? What new perspectives and strategies need to be developed in order for one to function as a healthy and effective pastor?
Participants in this continuing education event will focus upon the opportunities and challenges that the church is facing as it looks toward the future, and their implications for pastoral leadership. Facilitating the process of reflection and learning will be presentations by the leader, large and small group discussions, one or more case studies, and the use of two inventories that participants will take in preparation for the event: the Leadership Effectiveness Analysis, and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument. [The results of these inventories will be shared only with participants in the event.]
